Res. # By-Law # MEETING: GENERAL PURPOSE & ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE DATE: December 21, 1987 REPORT #: TR-98-87 FILE #: SUB.IECT: ESTABLISH A NEW RESERVE ENTITLED INFORMATION & COMPUTER EQUIPMENT - FINANCE DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. That report TR-98-87 be received; and 2. That the Treasurer be authorized to establish a reserve account entitled "Information & Computer Equipment Reserve - Finance Department". 3. That the attached By-law be forwarded to Council for approval. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: With the acquisition of a major in-house computer system, it would be appropriate to establish a reserve account to help offset the costs of enhancement to the system. The centralization of the Town's administration will necessitate increased peripherals etc. to the system. By creating this reserve, monies would be provided yearly in the budget to help defray equipment costs and major enhancement to the system five to ten years hence.
