Tender T87-33 Roof Replacement
Public Works Depot, Orono
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That report TR-86-87 be received; and
2. That Top Roofing and Sheet Metal, Toronto, Ontario, with a bid in
the amount of $12,377.00, being the lowest responsible bidder
meeting all terms, conditions, and specifications of Tender T87-33,
be awarded the contract, for the Roof Replacement at the Public
works Depot, Orono, as required by the Department of Public Works;
and
3. That the funds expended be drawn from the approved 1987 Public
Works Building Maintenance, Division #3 - Account No.
7212-00413-0249.

TR-86-87
Tender T87-33 Roof Replacement, Public Works Depot, Orono
BACKGROUND & COMMENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised and called for the Roof Replacement at
the Public works Depot in Orono as required by the Department of Public
works. In addition, eight (8) area contractors were invited to submit
tenders.
Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as follows:

Top Roofing & Sheet Metal $12,377.00
Toronto, Ontario
Lemar Roofing $13,795.00
Peterborough, Ontario
C.H. Burton Roofing & Sheet Metal $14,500.00
Peterborough, Ontario
The required funds will be drawn from the approved 1987 Public Works
Building Maintenance, Division #3 Account from which there are adequate
funds available.
The following references, which have been contacted and verified by
the Purchasing and Supply Agent, were provided by Top roofing and Sheet
Metal:
Ministry of Government Services
Lindsay, Ontario
Ministry of Government Services
Kingston, Ontario
Stag Pole Limited
Toronto, Ontario
After further review and analysis of the bids by both Public Works and
Purchasing, it was mutually agreed that the low bidder, Top Roofing and
Sheet Metal, be recommended for the contract for the Roof Replacement at
the Public Works Depot in Orono.
