That Report TR-42-87 be received; and 2. That the attached 1987 information Bulletin be approved forthwith. Provincial Legislation directs that the Town collect taxes approved by the Boards of Education and the Region of Durham. The 1987 average assessed value in the Town of Newcastle is $3,175. Therefore the average 1987 taxes, based on the mill rate will be $1,489 for public school purposes as opposed to $1,4012 in 1986. Water and sewer services are paid for totally by benefiting property owners on a separate bill. TOWN OF NEWCASTLE The local municipal portion of your taxes (220) supports administration, fire protection, by-law enforcement, animal control, building inspection, municipal roads, cemeteries, recreation, cultural services, libraries, museums and local planning services.
