SUB,JECT: TENDER T874, NON-ASPHALTIC ROAD OIL
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That this report be received; and
2. That Woodington Systems Inc., Thorold, Ontario, with a total bid of
$35,2501.00, being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms,
conditions and specifications of Tender T874, be awarded the
contract to supply and apply Non-Asphaltic Road Oil as required by
the Town of Newcastle; and
3. That the funds expended be provided from the approved 1987 Public
Works Road Maintenance budget.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised and invited for the supply and application of
approximately 250,000 litres of Non-Asphaltic Road Oil as required by the
Department of Public Works.

Tenders were received and tabulated as follows:

Canam Oil Services $40,7001.00
Breslau, Ontario
The lack of response for this tender is indicative of the fact that there are
very few contractors able and/or willing to provide this service.
The required funds will be provided from the approved 1987 Public Works Road
Maintenance budget.
Woodington Systems Inc. are an established reputable company which have a proven
record with the Town of Newcastle.
The 1987 price reflects a 30% decrease over the previous year.
