T87-5, ONE (1) 3/4 TON CREW CAB PICK UP TRUCK RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. That this report be received; and 2. That Roy Nichols Motors Limited, Bowmanville, Ontario, with a total bid of $15,5016.47, being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of Tender T87-5, be awarded the contract, forthwith, to supply and deliver one (1) only, 1987 3/4 Ton Crew Cab Pick Up Truck to the Town of Newcastle as required by the Department of Community Services; and 3. That the funds in the amount of $15,0001.010 be drawn from the 1987 approved Community Services Capital Budget, Account #76013-00232-0000 and that the additional required funds of $5016.47 be drawn from the Community Services Equipment Reserve, Account #7602-00000-014015. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: A tender was publicly advertised and invited for the supply and delivery of one (1) only 1/2 Ton Crew Cab Pick Up Truck, as required by the Department of Community Services. V1 ( h ) Page - 2 - TR-25-87 TENDER T87-5, ONE (1) 3/4 TON CREW CAB PICK UP TRUCK Tenders were received and tabulated as follows: Bidder Bid Amount Roy Nichols Motors Limited $15,506.47 Bowmanville, Ontario Cowan Pontiac Buick Limited $16,212.64 Bowmanville, Ontario Marigold Lincoln $17,871.36 Whitby, Ontario Holiday Ford Sales (19801) Ltd. $18,215.68 Peterborough, Ontario As the total bid price of $15,5016.47 is over the $15,01001.0101 provided for in the 1987 Capital Budget, funds in the amount of $15,00101.0101 will be drawn from the 1987 approved Community Services Capital Budget, Account #7603-00232-0101010 and the additional required funds of $506.47 will be drawn from the Community Services Equipment Reserve, Account #7602-0101000-04015. As the General Motors final order date for Pick Up Trucks is April 101, 1987, it is imperative that this contract be awarded forthwith. After review and analysis of the bids by both Purchasing and Community Services, it was mutually agreed that the low bid from Roy Nichols Motors Limited, Bowmanville, Ontario, be recommended for the tender award.
