SUB.ECT: TENDER NO. T87-8, THREE (3) 1/2 TON PICK UP TRUCKS
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration 4
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That this report be received; and
2. That Roy Nichols Motors Limited, Bowmanville, Ontario, with a total
bid of $37,048.08, being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all
terms, conditions and specifications of Tender T87-8, be awarded the
contract, forthwith, to supply and deliver three (3) only, 1987 1/2
Ton Pick Up Trucks, as required by the Public Works Department; and
3. That the funds be drawn from the approved Public Works Equipment
Reserve #2900-00010-0000.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
A tender was publicly advertised and invited for the supply and delivery of
three (3) only 1/2 Ton Pick Up Trucks,as required by the Public Works
Department.

For comparison purposes, all bidders were requested to quote on Option A (1987
Vehicles) and/or Option B (1988 Vehicles) .
The required funds of $37,048.08 will be drawn from the approved Public Works
Equipment Reserve Account #2900-00010-0000. This amount is well within the
$39,000.00 provided for in the 1987 Capital Budget.
As the General Motors final order date for 1987 Light Duty Pick Ups is April 10,
1987, it is imperative that this contract be awarded forthwith.
After review and analysis of the bids by both the Purchasing and Public Works
Departments, it was mutually agreed that the low bid from Roy Nichols Motors Limited,
Bowmanville, Ontario, be recommended for the tender award.
