SUB,JECT: TENDER T87-3, CORRUGATED STEEL CULVERT
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That this report be received; and
2. That Holt Culvert & Metal Products Limited, Peterborough, Ontario,
with a total bid in the amount of $42,0133.62, being the lowest
responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications
of Tender T87-3, be awarded the contract for the supply and delivery
of Corrugated Steel Culvert, as required for 1987 by the Department
of Public Works; and
3. That the funds be drawn from the approved 1987 Culvert Maintenace
Construction budget.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised and invited for the supply and delivery of
Rivetted Corrugated Steel Pipe Culvert as required by the Department of
Public Works for 1987.

Tenders were received and tabulated as follows:

After review and analysis of the tenders by Public Works and Purchasing, staff
recommends that Holt Culvert & Metal Products Limited be awarded the contract to
supply and deliver culvert to the Town of Newcastle for 1987. The service and
performance of Holt Culvert & Metal Products has been acceptable to the Town of
Newcastle in the past.
The required funds will be drawn from the approved 1987 Culvert Maintenance
Construction budget.
The tendered prices represent approximately a 2% to 14% increase depending on
the quantity and size of culvert.
