SUB,JECT: TENDER NO. T86-12, HALE'S BRIDGE REPAIRS
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following :
1 . That this reportAbe received; and
2. That Mel-Ron Construction Limited, Whitby, Ontario, with a bid
in the amount of $46,400.00, being the lowest responsible
bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of
Tender T86-12, be awarded the contract for the Hale's Bridge
Repairs; and
3. That the funds be drawn from the approved 1986 Public
Works Current budget.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tender specifications were provided by Totten Sims Hubicki Associates Limited for
the repair of Hale's Bridge. Subsequently tenders were advertised in the local papers ,
as well as the Daily Commercial News. Bids were received and tabulated as follows:

The required funds will be drawn from the approved 1986 Public Works Current Budget
which provided $50,OOC.00 for this project.
After review and analysis of the bids , by Purchasing , Public Works and Totten Sims
Hubicki Associates Limited, it was mutually agreed that the low bidder, Mel-Ron
Construction Limited , Whitby, Ontario, be awarded the contract for the Hale's Bridge
Repairs. The subject firm comes highly recommended by Totten Sims Hubicki
Associates Limited, as being specialists in this field of work.
