SUBJECT: TENDER T86-11 , PETROLEUM PRODUCTS
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following :
1 . That this report be received; and
2. That McKee Fuels , Brooklin, Ontario, with a unit price per litre of
.3638 and .3938 for the bulk supply of No. 2 Leaded Gasoline (Section A)
and Regular Unleaded Gasoline (Section B) , respectively, being the lowest
responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of
Tender T86-11 , for Section A and B, be awarded the supply contract as
required by the Town of Newcastle; and
3. That DX Oil Company, Oshawa, Ontario, with a unit price per litre of .389
for the bulk supply of Diesel Fuel Oil No. 1 (Section C) being the lowest
responsible bidder meeting all terms , conditions and specifications of
Tender T86-11 , Section C, be awarded the supply contract as required by
the Town of Newcastle; and
4. That the funds expended be drawn from the 1986 current operating fleet
budgets.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
A tender was publicly advertised and called for the supply and delivery of bulk Unleaded
Gasoline, Leaded Gasoline and Diesel Fuel as required by the Department of Public Works
for storage tank facilities at the Town of Newcastle Public Works Depots , ie. Orono,
Hampton and Bowmanville.
The tenders were opened and tabulated as per Schedule "A" attached.
The tendered prices represent approximately a 13% decrease over those tendered in
December 1985.

The required funds will be drawn from the current operating fleet budgets from which
there are adequate funds available.
After tabulating and reviewing the bids, it was mutually agreed by Purchasing and
Public Works staff, that the low bidders, McKee Fuels, Brooklin, Ontario and
DX Oil Company, Oshawa, Ontario, be recommended for the supply contract of Regular
Leaded and Unleaded Gasoline and No. 1 Diesel Fuel respectively.
