SUB,ECT: QUOTATION NO. Q86-12, FRONT MOUNT RIDING MOWER
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following :
'I . That this report be received; and
2. That Turf Care, Markham, Ontario, with a total bid of $12 ,005.40
being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms , conditions
and specifications of Quotation Q86-12, be awarded the contract
to supply and deliver one (1 ) only Front Mount Riding Mower and
one ( 1 ) only 62" Floating Cutting Unit, to the Town of Newcastle
as required by the Department of Community Services; and
3. That the funds be drawn from the 1986 approved Community Services
capital budget.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Quotations were invited for the supply and delivery of one ( 1 ) only Front Mount
Riding Mower and one (1 ) only 62" Floating Cutting Unit as required by the
Department of Community Services.
Quotations were received and tabulated as follows :

QUOTATION NO. Q86-12, FRONT MOUNT RIDING MOWER
The quotations were reviewed and it was revealed that the low bidder did not meet the
specifications as required by the Department of Community Services. The deficiencies
are :
1 . 3 cylinder Riding Mower (2 cylinder requested)
2. Fuel capacity 10 gallons (6 gallons requested)
3. Two pedal control (single pedal control requested)
4. Front tires 16 x 6.5 - 8 (requested 15 x 6.00 - 6)
Rear tires 23 x 8.5 - 12 (requested 20 x 8.00 - 10)
5. 60" fully suspended cutting deck (62" requested)
6. Width of cut 60" (62" requested)
7. Height of cut 1 1/2" to 4 1/2" ( 1 " - 4" requested)
After further review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and Community Services
and as the low bidder does not meet all specifications , it was mutually agreed that
the bid from Turf Care, Markham, Ontario, be recommended for the quotation award.
The service and performance of Turf Care has been acceptable to the Town of Newcastle
in the past.
