SUB.ECT: TENDER NO. T86-3, RECONSTRUCTION BASELINE ROAD - SPRY AVENUE TO WAVERLY ROAD
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following:
1 . That this report be received; and
2. That Bennett Paving & Materials Ltd. , Oshawa, Ontario, with a bid in
the amount of $145,887.60 being the lowest responsible bidder meeting
all terms, conditions and specifications of Tender No. T86-3, be
awarded the contract for the Reconstruction of Baseline Road from
Spry Avenue to Waverly Road, Bowmanville; and
3. That the funds be drawn from the approved 1986 Public Works Capital
budget.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tender specifications were provided by Totten Sims Hubicki Associates for the
Reconstructiop of Baseline Road from Spry Avenue to Waverly Road, Bowmanville, as
required by the Department of Public Works. Subsequently tenders were advertised
with bids being received and tabulated as follows:

TENDER NO. T86-3, RECONSTRUCTION BASELINE ROAD - SPRY AVENUE TO WAVERLY ROAD
After review and analysis of the bids by Public Works, Tottery Sims Hubicki Associates
and Purchasing , it was mutually agreed that the low bidder, Bennett Paving & Materials Ltd. ,
Oshawa, Ontario, be awarded the contract for Reconstruction of Baseline Road - Spry Avenue
to Waverly Road, Bowmanville. The subject firm has worked with satisfaction for the
Town of Newcastle in recent years.
