SUB,JECT: TENDER T86-5, CORRUGATED STEEL CULVERT
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following :
1 . That this report be received; and
2. That Corrugated Pipe Company Ltd. , Stratford Ontario, with a total bid of
$28,814.34 being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions
and specifications of Tender T86-5, be awarded the contract for the
supply and delivery of Corrugated Steel Pipe Culvert as required for
1986 by the Department of Public Works; and
3. That the funds be drawn from the approved 1986 Culvert Maintenance
Construction budget.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised and invited for the supply and delivery of rivetted
corrugated steel pipe culvert as required by the Department of Public Works for 1986.
The bids were received and tabulated as follows:

The bid from The Big "0" Drain Tile Co. , reflects prices for plastic pipe which does not
comply with the specifications of the tender. Subsequently, the low responsible bidder is
Corrugated Pipe Company Ltd. , Stratford, Ontario.
After review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and Public Works, staff recommends
that Corrugated Pipe Company Ltd. , Stratford, Ontario, be awarded the contract to supply
and deliver culvert to the Town of Newcastle for 1986. The service and performance of
Corrugated Pipe Company Ltd. has been acceptable to the Town of Newcastle in the past.
