SUBJECT: TENDER T85-22, SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF SNOW PLOW HARNESS, PLOWS,
WINGS, DUAL DUMP BODY AND CONTRACTOR'S DUMP BODY
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended:
1 . That this report be received; and
2. That Frink Canada, Cambridge, Ontario, with total bids of $33,328.36
and $26,288.83 respectively for Part I and Part I1 , being the lowest
responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications
of Tender T85-22 be awarded the contract to supply and install snow
plow equipment and dump bodies to two only cab and chassis as provided
by the Town of Newcastle; and
3. That the funds be drawn from the Public Works Capital Equipment reserve
in the amount of $59 ,617. 19.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
A tender was publicly advertised and invited for the supply and installation of snow
plow equipment, plows, wings, and dump bodies as required by the Department of Public
Works.

TENDER T85-22, SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF SNOW PLOW HARNESS, PLOWS,
WINGS, DUAL DUMP BODY AND CONTRACTOR'S DUMP BODY
This equipment will be supplied and installed by successful bidder on two only new
35,000 G.V.W. cab and chassis which are currently on order. Delivery of the cab and
chassis are scheduled for December 1985.
It is mutually agreed by Purchasing and Public Works staff that Frink Canada, Cambridge,
be recommended for the tender award. Frink Canada is an established reputable company
which have a proven record with the Town of Newcastle.
