SUB,ECT: TENDER T85-19, SNOW CLEARING AND WINTER MAINTENANCE OF SIDEWALKS AND
PARKING LOTS
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended;
1 . That this report be received; and
2. That D & F Snow Removal , Bowmanville, Ontario, with a bid in the amount
of $ 895.00 per call out, being the lowest responsible bidder meeting
all terms, conditions and specifications of Tender T85-19 be awarded the
contract to provide Snow Clearing and Winter Maintenance to sidewalks
and parking lots as required by the Town of Newcastle for the 1985/86
winter season; and
3. That the funds expended be drawn from the 1985 and 1986 Public Works
Winter Maintenance budget.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised and called for the Snow Clearing and Winter Maintenance
of sidewalks and parking lots within the Town of Newcastle as required by the Department
of Public Works.
Tenders were received and tabulated as follows:

SIDEWALKS AND PARKING LOTS
The above tendered amounts reflect the total cost to snow clear, sand and salt all
the locations specified in the Tender for one time only. the locations as tendered
are indicated on Schedule "A" attached.
It was agreed by Purchasing and Public Works that D & F Snow Removal , Bowmanville,
Ontario, be awarded the contract to provide winter maintenance of sidewalks and
parking lots, as tendered.
The price tendered represents a 45% increase from 1984.
