REPORT TO GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING
HELD APRIL 15, 1985.

SUBJECT: TENDER T85-4 EMULSIFIED PATCHING MATERIAL (COLD MIX SUPPLY)
RECOMMENDATION: *
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . that this report be received; and
2. that Bennett Paving & Materials Ltd. , Oshawa,
Ontario with a total bid in the amount of
$71 ,600.00 being the lowest responsible bidder
meeting all terms, conditions , and specifications
of Tender T85-4 be awarded the contract to supply
Emulsified Asphalt Patching Material on an "as
required" basis to the Town of Newcastle; and
3. that the funds expended be provided from the
approved 1985 Public Works roads material maintenance
budget.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT
Tenders were publicly advertised and invited for the supply
and delivery- of approximately 2,000 tonnes of Emulsified Asphalt Patching
Material as required by the Department of Public Works.
Tenders were received and tabulated as follows:

After review and analysis of the tender by Public Works
and Purchasing, it was agreed that Bennett Paving and Materials Limited be
awarded the contract to supply and deliver Emulsified Asphalt Patching
Material to the Town of Newcastle as required by the Department of Public
Works.
The 1985 price reflects a 3 percent increase over the previous
year.
