CAMPBELL, C.A.,TREASURER 40 TEMPERANCE STREET TEL.(416) 623-3379 BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO L1 C 3A6 REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING OF DECEMBER 3, 1984 REPORT NO. : TR-96-84 SUBJECT: NEWCASTLE HYDRO ELECTRIC COMMISSION NEW CENTRE OF OPERATIONS RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. That this report be received, and 2. That the attached By-Law to authorize the expenditure of $300,000 by the Newcastle Hydro Electric Commission and the issuing of debentures for same be approved and forwarded to the Ontario Municipal Board as required. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: Pursuant to a request from the Newcastle Hydro Electric Commission relating to the construction of a new centre for operations ( see attached) , staff herewith submits a by-law for Council ' s approval . Attention: Mrs. Kathryn Campbell, Treasurer Dear Kathryn: As a follow up to our recent telephone conversation whereby we make application for special funding with which to construct a new centre of operation during 1985, we will ask that this request be presented to Council and when approved, forwarded to the Region or whatever other body necessary in order to receive approval. Keeping in mind that this is a request for funds only and may never be drawn on, should other funding become available. Yours truly, .J. Therefore, be it resolved, that this Commission make application to the Municipality for a debenture issue in the amount of $300,000.00 for the 'construction of a new building and accessories.
