SUBJECT: TENDER T84-16A, HOT MIX ASPHALT RESURFACING
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended to Council :
1 . That this report be received; and
2. That Bennett Paving & Materials Ltd. , Oshawa, Ontario with a total bid in
the amount of $157,634.90 being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all
terms, conditions, and specifications of Tender T84-16A be awarded the
contract to supply and place Hot Mix Asphalt as required by the Town of
Newcastle; and
3. That the funds expended be drawn from the approved Public Works roads
maintenance, construction and capital project budgets.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT
Tenders were publicly advertised and called for the supply and placement of
Hot Mix Asphalt as required by the Department of Public Works.
Tenders were received and tabulated as follows:

After review and analysis of the tenders by Public Works and Purchasing
staff, it was agreed that Bennett Paving & Materials Ltd. , Oshawa, Ontario be
awarded the contract to supply and place Hot Mix Asphalt as tendered.
