REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE
MEETING OF JUNE 18, 1984
HAND OUT REPORT
REPORT NO.: TR-58-84
SUBJECT: QUOTATION - RETROFIT OF 1981 FORD PUMPER - FIRE DEPT
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administrative Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That this report be received, and
2. That Almonte Fire Trucks Ltd., Almonte, Ontario with
a bid in the total mount of $14,672 .00 be awarded the
contract to retrofit the 1971 Ford Pumper in
accordance with all terms, conditions and
specifications provided by the Town of Newcastle Fire
Department; and
3. That the funds be drawn from the 1984 approved capital
budget of $15,000 ( account #7102-504-1-7) .
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Quotations were invited from pre-qualified bidders for the
retrofitting of the 1971 Ford Pumper.
The bids were received and tabulated as follows :

After review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and Fire Department
staff, it was mutually agreed that the quotation submitted by Almonte Fire Trucks Ltd. be
accepted.
Item (C) above, in the amount of $2,800 will deducted from the total bid of
$14,672 in the event that a new tank is not required.
