REPORT TO GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING
HELD JUNE 18th, 1984

SUBJECT: TENDER T84-10, ONE SIDE MOUNT FLAIL MOWER
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . that this report be received; and
2. that Queensway Ford Equipment Sales, Peterborough, with a total bid in
the amount of $15,895.92 be awarded the contract to supply one only H.D.
Side Mount Flail Mower (Mott Interstater) in accordance with all terms,
conditions, and specifications of Tender T84-10; and
3. that the funds be drawn from the Public Works Capital Equipment reserve
in the amount of $15,895.92.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT
A tender was publicly advertised and invited for the supply of one only
Heavy Duty Side Mount Flail Mower as required by the Department of Public Works for
road side grass cutting.
The bids were received and tabulated as follows :

The bid submitted by Marmac Hydraulics, Scarborough does not comply with
the specifications of the tender with respect to the type of equipment required.
The deviation from the intent of the specifications is not acceptable to our
specific requirements.
Therefore, it is mutually agreed by Purchasing and Public Works staff
that Queensway Ford Equipment Sales, Peterborough be accepted as the responsible
bidder.
