Each municipality is being asked for _ $500.00 as a one time only contribution to provide Us with some working funds to organize a Victim Support Program, Education Programs and other activities throughout the Region. Individual memberships at _$10.00 are also being solicited. P.R.I.D.E. Durham is committed to working closely with all levels of government to combat alcohol abuse on our roads.. For the past six months, we have been working closely with the Durham Region District Health Council which has. assisted in recruitment of volunteers and developing our organization. Recognizing your own .commitment to fight this problem and the recent request from the Attorney General for you to ' get involved", we felt that a modest financial contribution to our organization would be more efficient than initiating your own work at' considerably more expense to the local taxpayers. A public meeting is to be held May 29th in Oshawa at which Jim Erskine, Chairman of the Provincial Drinking and Driving Counter Measures Unit, will be our guest speaker. A notice will be sent to 'you very soon.1.l look forward to a. favourable-`response.
