HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-46-84 V-1 3�b) W15o �tAMIED CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE 40 TEMPERANCE STREET BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO L1C3A6 TELEPHONE 623-3379 REPORT TO GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING HELD JUNE 4th, 1984 TR - 46 - 84 SUBJECT: TENDER T84-9, CONSTRUCTION OF SAND/SALT DOME RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1 . that this report be received; and 2. that Bulk Store Structures Ltd. , Erin, Ontario with a total bid, in the amount of $62,000.00, being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions, and specifications of Tender T84-9 be awarded the contract for the construction of a 116 foot diameter Sand/Salt Storage Dome as required by the Town of Newcastle; and 3. that the funds be drawn from the 1984 approved Capital Budget of $110,000.00. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT A tender was publicly advertised and invited for the construction of a 116 foot diameter Sand/Salt Storage Dome as required by the Department of Public Works for the Hampton Works Depot. The bids were received and tabulated as follows: Bidder Total Bid Bulk Store Structures Ltd. $62,000.00 Erin, ON Dome Storage Buildings 75,675.00 Port Hope, ON Maple Structures Ltd. 94,550.00 Brampton, ON I (continued) ��f -2- The company being recommended, is the same reputable company which constructed our Sand/Salt Dome at the Orono Works Depot. After review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and Public Works staff, it was mutually agreed to recommend Bulk Store Structures Ltd. , Erin for the construction of the sand/salt dome.
