REPORT TO GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING
HELD MAY 22, 1984

SUBJECT: TENDER T84-2, RECONSTRUCTION OF DIVISION ST. , ORONO
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . that this report be received; and
2. that Behan Construction, Cobourg, Ontario with a bid in the amount of
$ ,227.05 being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions ,
and specifications of Tender T84-2 be awarded the contract for the
reconstruction of Division St. , Orono as required by the
Town of Newcastle; and
3. that the funds be drawn from the approved capital budget #7205-261-X-X
of $100,000.00; and
4. that a "certified resolution" recommending approval of this report be sent to
Mr. PC Ginn , Ministry of Transportation & Communications.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT
Tender specifications and plans were provided by Totten Sims Hubicki Associates
for the reconstruction of Division Street, Orono as required by the Department
of Public Works. Subsequently, tenders were advertised with bids being received
and tabulated as follows:

After review and analysis of the bids by Public Works, Totten Sims Hubicki
Associates, and Purchasing, it was mutually agreed that the low bidder, Behan
Construction, be awarded the contract for reconstruction of Division St. , Orono, Ontario.
