BACKGROUND AND COMMENT
ID r88p0D5e t0 Mrs. Mac Donald's letter of
November 12, 1983 (attached) staff NUSt report that we are
unable t0 supply most Of the information requested. Any
0aiDt9D8OCp work which is performed or has been performed in
the past OO the Waverly road Tunnel has been included in the
sidewalk and walkway maintenance general aCCDUMt3 and not
' aCCUUDtSd for separately. It would take considerable staff
time t0 do an iUdeVth analysis Of the prior year's records
which might not be fruitful if the expenditures are not
identified DS t0 location.

The guard which has been placed at the Waverly
Road Tunnel results in an expenditure of approximately $100
every two weeks for wages and benefits and incidential
expenses such as protective clothing, etc.

Members of Town Council ,
I would formally request that members of Town Council instruct the Town
Treasury Dept. to supply me with a complete report of all expenditures
made on the Waverley Road Tunnel . This report should cover all costs
to date since its construction. The cost report should cover all
expenditures including - Repairs - sodding face of tunnel
- dirt wash out
- asphalt (etc. )
- lighting
- fencing
- snow removal
- original construction of rock beds and subsequent repairs
- Dept. of Works crews- for clean up
- sewer maintenance
- crossing guard
and any other expenses occured since its construction.
I will look forward to your reply at your earliest convenience and would like to
thank you in advance for your co-operation.
