the attached request for renewal 01, the, l 0uSo JUree i0eUt
between the T0ND of Newcastle and Regional Police for a
further one year term (January l, 1984 to December 31,
1984) .
The K8gi0Ddl Police wish to renew the lease at
the S8Ne rental rate /$29,600 payable in monthly
installments of $2,466.67\ as established for the 1983
fiscal year. The Regional Police are currently paying
$13.04/sqUJre, foot for this space j.1S opposed t0 a general
commercial rental rate of $8.50/SqUare foot.

If Comm-(J tee wishes to renew the lease on the
terms as presented by the Regional Police the following
resolution should be approved:
THAT the Town of Newcastle accept the offer to renew
the lease agreement with the Durham Regional Police
at 132 Church Street, Bowmanville for the term of one
year commencing January 1, 1984; and
THAT the Durhaffl Regional Police shall have the option
to renew said lease for a further period of one year
at a rental rate to be negotiated at that time; and
FURTHER THAT, the Clerk Department prepare a by-law
to execute said renewal with the Durham Regional
Police."

Re: Renewal of Lease Agreement for Durham Regional Police

The present lease agreement covering 2,270 square feet of
office space at 132 Church St. , Bowmanville, and occupied by
the Regional Police, expires on December 31 , 1983. We wish to
renew this lease agreement and enclose an offer to lease form
for your consideration.
The term of the renewal will be for twelve months under the
same terms and conditions as presently exist including the
amount of rent which is $29,600 payable in monthly installments
of $2,466.67.
We would appreciate your returning two duly executed copies of
the renewal form, for presentation to Regional Council .

offer to Renew a Lease Agreement with The Regional
Municipality of Durham in respect of a lease for
premises situate at 132 Church Street, Bowmanville.

The Corporation of the Town of Newcastle HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
That the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to
execute on behalf of the Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle and seal with the Corporation Seal, an
Offer to Renew Lease Agreement Agreement between The
Regional Municipality of Durham and the said
Corporation, which is attached hereto as Schedule 'T'.
