(416)668-7711 Treasurer Town of Newcastle CW.LUNDY,aM.C.T. Regional Clerk 40 Temperance Street Bowmanville, Ontario L1C 3A6 Ms. Campbell , in reply to your letter of November 15, 1983 to Mr. C.W. Lundy, Regional Clerk, I can advise you that the Region has never put out a Tender Call for banking services. I have checked with Mr. J.L. Gartley, the Commissioner of Finance, on the matter and he advised me that the staff has discussed banking services but there has never been any staff reports with recommendations to the Finance Committee and/or Regional Council with respect to the matter. Prior to Regional Government, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce provided the banking services for the County of Ontario, and upon incorporation , the Region by resolution of Council on October 31 , 1973 appointed the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce as the bankers for the Regional Municipality of Durham. I trust this informatic vill be of some value to you.
