REPORT TO GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING

SUBJECT: LEASE: MAILING MACHINE
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
1 . that this report be received; and
2. that Council accept the lease from PB Leasing to lease one only Pitney Bowes
Model 5600 Mailing Machine at a quarterly cost of $491 . 13 for a period of
36 months, and
3. that Council further adopt the attached by-law authorizing the execution of
a lease with PB Leasing , Etobicoke , Ontario, in respect of the mailing
machine.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT
Due to the expiration of the lease for the mailing machine (effective Dec. 31/83)
in Treasury, it is necessary to enter into a new lease agreement for a mailing machine.
The lease term has been established to coincide close to the expiration of the mailing
machine in the Hampton Municipal Office which is also a Pitney Bowes product.
It would , at that time, be appropriate to consider researching the market place
for mailing machines. To be compatible and accommodate servicing and postage meters , it
would not be beneficial to consider other products-.now.
Therefore, it is recommended that Council accept the established product being
proposed.
