After review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing, it was decided that
Petro Canada Ventures be awarded the contract to supply and deliver Fuel Oil to
various facilities within the Town of Newcastle as required.
Consideration was given to the bid from Perry Fuels Inc. , Oshawa, Ontario
who provided the only firm price for the tenure of the contract. In view of the
market conditions with crude on a national and global basis and anticipating the
future markets , based on current trends , it was decided to remain with a non-firm
price for this product.
Furthermore, the tendered price is 5 percent less than the current price
for domestic fuel oil .
