REPORT TO THE COUNCIL MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 12 1983

SUBJECT: HAYDON HALL BOARD - WASHROOM RENOVATION
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that:
1 . This report be received; and
2. That Fairview Construction Ltd. of Peterborough, Ontario be
awarded the contract for the Haydon Hall Board Washroom Renovation
at a quotation of $8,895.00; and
3. That the $8,895.00 be funded as follows:
$7,500 from Lot Levy Reserve Fund as provided in the 1983
Capital Budget, and
$1 ,395 from the Cash-in-Lieu of Parkland Reserve Fund; and
4. That the Haydon Hall Board be request�d _to refund to the Cash-in-
Lieu of Parkland Reserve Fund, 50% of the budget, overrun of $1 ,395,
being $697.50 on the following dates: June 1 1984 - $348.75 and
June 1 1985 - $348.75.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Quotations were called for the renovation of the washrooms at the
Haydon Hall and three quotations were received:
Gerr Construction Ltd.
Bowmanville, Ontario $11 ,600.00
Bowman Construction Ltd.
Bowmanville, Ontario $12,000.00
Fairview Construction Ltd. �(
Peterborough, Ontario $ 8,895.00
PAfter review of the quotations and having received assurances that (P

Fairview Construction Ltd. are able to complete the necessary works,
this company has been recommended as the contractor for the Haydon
Hall Washroom Renovation.
The 1983 Capital Budget provided $7,500.00 for this project and as the
project cost has exceeded that amount, it was felt that the Hall Board
should contribute towards the cost overrun. I have spoken to the
Chairman of the Haydon Hall Board and the Board will have a reply
for Council on Monday, September 12 1983.
