Gray, Deputy Director of Public Works DATE: August 16, 1983 SUBJECT: EQUIPMENT TENDER 83-15 FRONT END ARTICULATED LOADER Please be advised that Public Works staff have reviewed the tenders for the front end loader (2 1/2 cu. yd. ) and recommend that the tender be awarded to Capital Equipment Ltd. , the lowest tender that satisfies all specifications. This loader satisfies the recommendations in the 1983 Equipment Budget to upgrade to a 2 112 yard loader and is the minimum weight and horse power to safely support and operate the Town's S.M.I . snow blower. It is also recommended that the 1971 Trojan Loader be traded at a net price of $77,752.00, the cost of which is well below the $100,000 Budget. We would appreciate an early award of this contract in order to avoid costly repairs to the existing loader and to have the new equipment available for the 1983/84 winter season. XA D.T. Gray.
