SUBJECT: TENDER T83-18, GRAVEL CRUSHING AND HAULING
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
1 . that this report be received; and
2. that Robert E. Young Construction Ltd. , Ennismore, Ont. with a total
bid in the amount of $95,700.00 being the lowest responsible bidder
meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of Tender T83-18 be
awarded the contract to provide Gravel Crushing and Hauling as required
by the Town of Newcastle and
3. that the funds expended be provided from the approved Public Works
roads maintenance construction budget.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT
Tenders were publicly advertised and called for the Gravel Crushing and Hauling contract
as required by the Department of Public Works.
Tenders were received and tabulated as follows:

Harnden & King Construction (Ont. ) Ltd.
Cobourg , Ont. $118,056.00
After review and analysis of the tenders by Public Works and Purchasing staff, it
was agreed that Robert E. Young Construction Ltd. be awarded the contract to provide
Gravel Crushing and Hauling.
