SUBJECT: TENDER T83-12, TWO ONLY 35,000 G.V.W. CAB AND CHASSIS
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
1 . that this report be received; and
2. that Thorncrest Ford Sales Ltd. , Islington, Ontario with a total bid
in the amount of $71 ,360.00 being the lowest responsible bidder,
meeting all terms specifications and conditions of Tender T83-12
be awarded the tender to supply two (2) only 1984 - 35,000 G.V.W.
Cab and Chassis as required by the Department of Public Works and
3. that the funds be expended from the 1983 approved Public Works capital
budget as provided.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT
Tenders were publicly advertised and called for the supply and delivery
of two (2) only 35,000 G.V.W. Cab and Chassis as required by the Department of
Public Works.
The bids were received and tabulated as follows :

*Note: The total bid amounts reflect the cost for two vehicles and exclude
all taxes which are exempt for this purchase.
After reviewing the bids it was mutually agreed by Public Works and
Purchasing to accept Thorncrest Ford Sales Ltd. as the low responsible bidder.
The urgency of this report becomes necessary due to the 120 day
delivery schedule which is common for this type of purchase.
