MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 7 1983

SUBJECT: QUOTATION Q-83-1 , PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
FOR NEWCASTLE VILLAGE AND ORONO
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
1 . That this report be received; and
2. That Canadian Protection Services (Durham) Ltd. , Oshawa,
with unit bids in the amount of $5.00 per hour for
personnel and $.30 per km for travel expense, being the
lowest responsible bidder and meeting all terms and
conditions of Quotation Q-83-1 , be awarded the contract to
provide Parking Enforcement personnel as required by the
Office of the Clerk for the 1983 calendar year, in Newcastle
Village and Orono; and
3. That Council authorize the expenditure of funds with respect
to the Parking Enforcement program for Newcastle Village and
Orono and that payment of the funds be charged to the
"Purchase of Services" account #7225-0249-X-7.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Quotations were invited for the provision of security personnel
as Parking Enforcement Officers to enforce parking by-laws in
Newcastle Village and Orono, as requested by the Office of the
Clerk and bids were received and tabulated as follows:

After review of the bids by the Clerk and Purchasing, it was agreed
that Canadian Protection Services (Durham) Ltd. , Oshawa be awarded
the contract.
A copy of the General Terms and Conditions of Quotation Q83 - 1 is
attached for reference.

of the week , Monday t0 Friday , Statutory Holidays excepted . Services 0UIt not
exceed twenty (20) hours per week .
3' INSURANCE:

General Terms and Conditions
5. Appearances in Court, when necessary , will be paid at the regular established
rate for travel expense and time .
6. Travel expenses pertain to trips between enforcement locations . Daily travel to
,ind from the enforcement location from place of rec;idence is the ro.sponsihilit.y
of the contractor , or his employee.
7. PERSONNEL provided for this contract must be residents of the Town of Newcastle .
8. Rates are to be held firm for the duration of the contract period expiring
December 31 , 1983.
