SUB,ECT: QUOTATION Q91-22; REPLACEMENT OF STREET TREES
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . THAT Report TR-95-91 be received;
2 . THAT Sebastiao Nursery and Landscaping, Cobourg,
Ontario, with a total bid in the amount of $12,557 . 52
being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all
terms, conditions and specifications of Quotation
Q91-22, be awarded the contract for the Replacement
of Street Trees, as required by the Department of
Public Works;
3 . That the required funds be drawn from the approved
1991 Public Works Account #7205-01001-0261,
Construction Associated with Development; and
4 . THAT the above recommendations be approved FORTHWITH.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
A Quotation Request was issued and bids were invited from a
compiled list of potential bidders, known to provide the
replacement of street trees as required by the Department of
Public Works .
Subsequently, quotations were received and tabulated as follows:

QUOTATION Q91-22 , REPLACEMENT OF STREET TREES
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department
needs, specifications, etc. , should be referred to the Director
of Public Works .
Due to the approaching winter season, a forthwith approval is
requested. Once the contract is officially awarded, the low
bidder has agreed that they will plant any specified trees that
the weather permits . The balance will be planted in the spring,
with all pricing remaining firm until that time.
The subject firm have previously provided satisfactory service to
the Town of Newcastle.
