Subject: ACCEPTANCE OF CONTRACTS AND QUOTATIONS
AUGUST BREAK
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That report TR-60-91 be received; and
2 . That the Chief Administrative Officer and Treasurer be
authorized to accept the lowest tender or quotation
meeting all terms, conditions and specifications as
required by the Town during the August Break; and
3 . That the Mayor and Clerk subject to recommendation #2
above be authorized to execute the necessary contracts
or agreements; and
4 . That an information report be presented at the first
G.P.A. Committee meeting in September summarizing the
tender or quotations that have been awarded.
BACKGROUND & COMMENTS
During the August Break, there may be occasion where tenders or
quotations (budgeted items) will be required to be opened and
awarded during the month. In order to avoid the necessity of
convening a Council meeting and possibly not have a quorum
available, due to the holiday period, it would be appropriate for
Council to adopt the recommendations contained in this report.
This procedure is consistent with that adopted in prior years .
