HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-58-91 TOWN OF NEWCASTLE REPORT File # Res. # By-Law # MEETING: GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE DATE: July 8, 1991 REPORT #: TR-58-91 FILE #: W ECT: CO-OPERATIVE TENDER, FUEL OIL RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. That Report TR-58-91 be received; 2 . That Esso Petroleum Canada, Willowdale, Ontario, with a net unit price in the amount of $ .217 per litre, meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of the Durham Region Roman Catholic Separate School Board Co-Operative Tender, be awarded the contract to supply and deliver No. 2 Domestic Fuel Oil to the Town of Newcastle for the 1991/92 winter season; and 3. That the funds expended be drawn from the 1991/92 budget allocation for heating of facilities . BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: The Town of Newcastle joined the Durham Region Roman Catholic Separate School Board on a Co-Operative basis to tender for the supply and delivery of No. 2 Domestic Fuel Oil. Affiliated Hall Boards, Museums and Park Boards were given the option of being included in this tender. Subsequently, the bids were received and tabulated as per the attached Bid Summary, marked Schedule "A" . The required funds will be drawn from the 1991/92 budget allocation for heating of facilities from which there are adequate funds available. The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the recommendation. .j 0 Page - 2 - TR-58-91 CO-OPERATIVE TENDER, FUEL OIL The price tendered represents a price increase of approximately four percent (4%) over the 1990/91 prices. After further review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing, it is recommended that Esso Petroleum Canada, Willowdale, Ontario, be recommended for the contract award to supply and deliver No. 2 Domestic Fuel Oil as required by the Town of Newcastle. The subject firm has performed satisfactorily for the Town of Newcastle in recent years .
