RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That Report TR-48-91 be received;
2 . That Evergreen Farm and Garden Ltd. , Orono, Ontario,
with a total bid of $13,501.00, being the lowest
responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and
specifications of Tender NW91-24, be awarded the
contract to supply and deliver one ( 1) only Front
Mount Riding Mower with a 60" Cutting Unit with Rear
Discharge, to the Town of Newcastle as required by
the Department of Community Services; and
3 . That the funds required be drawn from the approved
1991 Community Services Capital budget, account
#7603-00001-0505, FORTHWITH.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised and invited for the supply and
delivery of one ( 1) only Front Mount Riding Mower with a minimum
60" Cutting Unit with Rear Discharge, as required by the
Department of Community Services.
Tenders were received and tabulated as follows:

The required funds will be drawn from the approved 1991 Community
Services Capital budget, account #7603-00001-0505 and are well
within the $19,000 .00 allocated for this equipment.
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department
needs, specifications, etc . , should be referred to the Director
of Community Services .
A forthwith approval is requested as the equipment is required
for immediate use.
After further review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and
Community Services, it was mutually agreed that the bid from
Evergreen Farm and Garden Ltd. , Orono, Ontario, be recommended
for the tender award. The subject firm have previously provided
satisfactory service for the Town of Newcastle.
