Birkett : I recommend the Town of Newcastle accept the 1991 Girardin Corporation tender as this vehicle meets all our specifications . With regard to the Leeds Transit tender, I met with Mr. Bruce Young , salesman for Leeds Transit , to discuss interior layout . Having tried various seating configuration I discovered this vehicle could not meet our required five wheelchair and four ambulatory passenger capacity. This was due , in part, to the fixed forward facing seats . The tender had indicated this vehicle came with sliding seats but it does not , Mr . Young confirmed this and said they could not supply them. Therefor this vehicle does not meet our specifications . Please contact me if you require further. information.
