SLJ&JECT: TENDER NW91-121 ONE ( 1) ONLY 1/2 TON PICK UP TRUCK
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That Report TR-37-91 be received;
2 . That Roy Nichols Motors Limited, Bowmanville, Ontario, with
a total bid of $14,509 .55 (including all taxes) , being the
lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions
and specifications of Tender NW91-12, be awarded the
contract, forthwith, to supply and deliver one ( 1)
only 1/2 Ton Pick Up Truck, to the Town of Newcastle as
required by the Department of Community Services; and
3 . That the required funds be drawn from the approved
1991 Community Service Department Capital Budget, account
#7603-00001-0504 .
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
A tender was publicly advertised and invited for the supply and
delivery of one ( 1) only 1/2 Ton Pick Up Truck, as required by the
Department of Community Services .
Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as per Schedule "A"
attached.
The total bid price of $14,509 .55 is well within the $22,000 . 00
provided for in the 1991 Community Services Capital Budget, account
#7603-00001-0504, as reflected in the Capital Budget.

A forthwith approval is requested in order to accommodate the
manufacturers cut off date for ordering 1991 vehicles .
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding and concurs with the
recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs,
specifications, etc. , should be referred to the Director of Community
Services . After review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and
Community Services, it was mutually agreed that the low bid from Roy
Nichols Motors Limited, Bowmanville, Ontario, be recommended for the
tender award.
