SUDJE CT. TENDER NW91-14, ONE ( 1) ONLY 1 TON PICK UP TRUCK WITH
EXTENDED CAB 4 X 4
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That Report TR-35-91 be received;
2 . That Cliff Mills Motors Ltd. , Oshawa, Ontario, with a
total bid of $21, 153. 10 (including all taxes) , being
the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms,
conditions and specifications of Tender NW91-14, be
awarded the contract, forthwith, to supply and deliver
one ( 1) only 1 Ton Pick Up Truck with Extended Cab
4 x 4, to the Town of Newcastle as required by the Fire
Department; and
3 . That the required funds be drawn from the approved 1991
Fire Department Capital Budget, Account #7102-00001-0504 .
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
A tender was publicly advertised and invited for the supply and
delivery of one ( 1) only 1 Ton Pick Up Truck with Extended Cab 4 x 4,
as required by the Fire Department.
Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as per Schedule "A"
attached.
The total bid price of $21, 153. 10 is well within the $25,000 . 00
provided for in the 1991 Fire Department's Capital Budget, Account
#7102-00001-0504, as reflected in the Capital Budget.

A forthwith approval is requested in order to accommodate the
manufacturers cut off date for ordering 1991 vehicles .
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding and concurs with the
recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs,
specifications, etc . , should be referred to the Fire Chief.
After review and analysis of the bids by both Purchasing and the Fire
Department, it was mutually agreed that the low bid from Cliff Mills
Motors Ltd. , Oshawa, Ontario, be recommended for the tender award.
