SUBJECT: FOLDING PARTITION - BOWMANVILLE RECREATION COMPLEX
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That Report TR-92-89 be received;
2 . That the procedures set out in the Purchasing By-
Law #82-92, Section 5, Paragraph 04, be waived for
this particular transaction;
3 . That a purchase order in the amount of $22,265 . 00,
to supply, deliver and install one ( 1) Moderco
8350JM Folding Partition be issued to Contract Sales
and Installations, Barrie, Ontario; and
4 . That the funds expended be provided from the approved
1989 Community Services Department Capital Budget
Account #7606-00003-0501.
BACKGROUND AND COMIENT:
The Community Services Department received approval in the 1989
Capital Budget to purchase a Folding Partition required for the

FOLDING PARTITION - BOWMANVILLE RECREATION COMPLEX
Multi-Purpose Room at the Bowmanville Recreation Complex. This
partition will complement the one ( 1) installed as part of the
original construction of the facility.
Subsequently, a quotation was requested from the supplier of the
existing Folding Partition, Contract Sales and Installations .
Staff have been advised by the consultant, Phillips Barratt
Kaiser, that the subject firm is the only known supplier. As the
partitions must be compatible, staff are recommending that the
contract be awarded as suggested, rather than going out for
Tender.
The total bid price of $22,265 . 00 is within the approved Capital
Budget of $30,000 .00. A copy of the quotation is attached marked
Schedule "A" .
The Deputy Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and
concurs with the recommendation. Queries with respect to depart-
ment needs, specifications, etc . , should be referred to the
Director of Community Services .

partition which is structurally the same as the partition
installed in the original building (only the inside steel \
and insulation is changed) for the sum of $22,265 . 00 �PS-V -V^.�-�)
(twenty-two thousand, two-hundred and sixty-five
dollars) .
The above price includes as follows ; P4
Standard vinyl finish.
Lever operated seals .
All necessary structural modifications .
Welding of hanger rods to support .
Five year warrantee
Note ; The wall installed under the original contract is
an #8310JM (X) STC . 43 . The wall we are quoting on here is
sound rated to STC . 48-52 . which will allow yourselves
more flexibility in the use of the spaces .
Terms ; Net 30 days .
This quote valid for 30 days .
