TENDER T89-24, SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF SNOW PLOW HARNESS, PLOWS AND WINGS
As part of the General Conditions of this tender, the Town of Newcastle
reserved the right to include installation with the award of this tender or to
make alternate installation arrangements. It is estimated that the cost for
Town of Newcastle staff to install this equipment is $ 2,650.00.
This equipment will be installed on one (1) only new 50,000 G.V.W. Cab and
Chassis, which is currently on order. Delivery of this cab and chassis is
scheduled for approximately November 30, 1989.
The required funds will be drawn from the approved 1989 Public Works Fleet
Account from which there are adequate funds available. This is reflected in the
Public Works Capital Budget, page 53, Item #5, as a 1976 Ford Dump Truck to be
replaced. The budgeted cost on this equipment is $110,000.00; a portion of
which is covered by Tender T89-24. The additional equipment will be added
through subsequent tenders, in accordance with the budgeted amount.
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the
recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc.
should be referred to the Director of Public Works.
After review of the bids by Purchasing and Public Works, it was mutually agreed
that the bid from London Machinery, London, Ontario, be recommended for the
