Upon review of the tenders, it was revealed that the Bunker Suits proposed by
the low bidder, do not meet the tender specifications in that they are made
of a Nomex material outer shell with a wool liner. The tender specified P.B.I.
High Strength Aramid lined with Gortex material (or approved equivalents) . The
Acting Fire Chief has advised that the Nomex material is not acceptable.
The required funds are to be drawn from the approved Fire Department Capital
Budget, Account #7102-010101011-01520 and are well within the budgeted amount of
$27,0100.001. The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs,
specifications, etc. should be referred to the Acting Fire Chief.
