TENDER T89-9, EMULSIFIED ASPHALT PATCHING MATERIAL (COLD MIX)

After review and analysis of the tenders by Public Works and Purchasing, it was
agreed that Standard Aggregates, be recommended for the contract award to
supply and deliver Emulsified Asphalt Patching Material to the Town of
Newcastle as required by the Department of Public Works.
The required funds will be provided from the approved 1989 Public Works Roads
Maintenance budget, from which there are adequate funds available. The
Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the
recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc.
should be referred to the Director of Public Works.
The 1989 prices for cold mix delivered reflects approximately a three percent

result of the earlier tender issue.
Although Standard Aggregates have not previously performed for the Town of
Newcastle, they have performed satisfactorily for the Regional Municipality of
Durham, the Town of Pickering and the Town of Ajax.
