SUB,JECT: TENDER T89-6, ONE (1) ONLY STREET FLUSHER
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That this report be received; and
2. That Amaco Construction Equipment Incorporated, Mississauga,
Ontario, with a total bid of $ 92,457.00, being the lowest
responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications
of Tender T89-6, be awarded the contract to supply and deliver
one (1) only Street Flusher, Option "A", to the Town of Newcastle,
as required by the Department of Public Works; and
3. That the funds be drawn from the Public Works Department Garbage
Equipment Reserve Account.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
In accordance with Council Resolution #GPA-137-89, authorizing an early
tender call, tenders were publicly advertised and invited for the supply and
delivery of one (1) only Street Flusher, as required by the Department of
Public Works.

Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as follows:

Also in accordance with Council Resolution #GPA-137-89, the required funds
will be drawn from the Public Works Department Garbage Equipment Reserve
Account. The total bid price of $ 92,457.00 is well within the $100,000.00
budgeted for this item.
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the
recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc.
should be referred to the Director of Public Works.
After further review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and Public Works,
it was mutually agreed, that the low bid from Amaco Construction Equipment
Incorporated, Mississauga, Ontario, be recommended for the tender award.
The subject firm have previously performed satisfactorily for the Town of
Newcastle.
