TENDER NO. T89-2, PLUMBING SERVICES
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That report TR-4-89 be received; and
2. That Jack Burgess Plumbing and Heating, Bowmanville, Ontario, with
bid prices of $26.00 per hour for Journeyman Plumber and $17.00 per
hour for Journeyman Plumbers Helper be awarded the contract to
provide Plumbing Services, as required by the Town of Newcastle
for 1989; and
3. The the funds expended be drawn from the various 1989 Current
Budget Accounts.
BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:
Tenders were publicly advertised and invited to provide Plumbing Services as
required by the Town of Newcastle for 1989.
Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as per Schedule"A"
attached.
The bid prices represent an approximate 8% increase over the 1988 contract
prices.
The required funds will be drawn from the various 1989 Current Budget
Accounts.

For the information of Council, the Town of Newcastle spent approximately
$10,000.00 for plumbing services during 1988.
After further review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing, it is
respectfully recommended that Jack Burgess Plumbing and Heating, Bowmanville,
Ontario, be awarded the contract to provide plumbing services to the Town of
Newcastle as required. The subject firm has worked satisfactorily for the
Town of Newcastle in the past year.
