That this report be received; and 2. That Mr. Dennis Abramoff, Orono, Ontario, with an offer in the amount of $6,600.00, be accepted for the sale of property located on Peter's Pike, Orono, Plan 693, Blk A, in accordance with the Town of Newcastle Procedure for Property Disposal as adapted by Council; and 3. That the funds generated from the approved sale be credited to Parkland Reserve Fund, Account #5001-861-7-4. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: Further to a previous recommendation from Council, deeming the above property as surplus to the Town's needs, staff have obtained an appraisal from Property Valuators and Consultants Ltd. , Bowmanville. The estimated value of the property is $6,600.00, based on the highest and best use being as add-on land for an abutting property owner. U V Page - 2- TR-54-88 SALE OF PROPERTY, TOWN OF NEWCASTLE - PLAN 693, BLK A ASSESSMENT ROLL #01301-01501-14201 Subsequently and in accordance with the Town of Newcastle Procedure for Property Disposal, if no interest is expressed by any Government Agency, then staff must contact the abutting property owners to see if they are interested in acquiring the property at the appraised value. If there is no interest, then the Town may sell the property by public tender. In discussions with the abutting property owner, Mr. Dennis Abramoff, the gentleman has agreed to purchase the property at the appraised value of $6,6001.00, and that the property will be merged and become one (1) parcel of land. All costs associated with the sale of this property, including the land appraisal, would be at the expense of Mr. Abramoff. A deposit of $500.001 has been obainted. See attached letter from Mr. Abramoff marked Schedule "A", as well as a map outlining the said property marked Schedule "B". After further review of the offer by both Treasury and the Chief Administrative Officer, it is recommended that the bid from Mr. Dennis Abramoff, Orono, Ontario, be accepted as offered.
