SUB,JECT: TENDER T88-11, VEHICLE TENDER
TWO (2) ONLY 50,000 G.V.W.R. CAB AND CHASSIS
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That this report be received; and
2. That Holiday Ford Sales (19801) Ltd., Peterborough, Ontario, with a
total bid of $127,163.52, being the lowest responsible bidder meeting
all terms, conditions and specifications of T88-11, be awarded the
contract to supply and delivery two (2) only 50,000 G.V.W.R. Cab
and Chassis to the Town of Newcastle, as required by the Department
of Public Works; and
3. That the funds be drawn from the 1988 approved Public Works Fleet
budget.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
A tender was publicly advertised and invited for the supply and delivery of
two (2) only 1988 50,000 G.V.W.R. Cab and Chassis, as required by the Department
of Public Works.

Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as follows:

The total funds of $127,163.52 will be drawn from the 1988 approved Public
Works Fleet budget from which there are adequate funds available. The Treasurer
has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the recommendation.
Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc. should be
referred to the Director_ of Public Works.
After review of the bids by Purchasing and Public Works, it was mutually agreed
that the bid from Holiday Ford Sales (19801) Ltd., Peterborough, Ontario, be
recommended for the tender award.
