HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-37-88 TOWN OF NEWCASTLE REPORT File # lo -.!q Red. 1L 22 By-Law # ME ING: GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE DATE: June 6, 1988 REPORT #: TR-37-88 FILE #: SM.ECT: TENDER T88-10, CORRUGATED STEEL CULVERT RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. That this report be received; and 2. That Holt Culvert and Metal Products Limited, Peterborough, Ontario, with a total bid in the amount of $46,505.70, being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of Tender T88-10, be awarded the contract for the supply and delivery of Corrugated Steel Culvert "as required" for 1988 by the Department of Public Works; and 3. That the funds be drawn from the approved 1988 Culvert Maintenance Construction budget. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: Tenders were publicly advertised and invited for the supply and delivery of Rivetted Corrugated Steel Pipe Culvert as required by the Department of Public Works for 1988. Holt Sales Limited $46,505.70 Peterborough, Ontario Canada Culvert & Metal Products $54,237.06 Maple, Ontario Armtec $54,581.32 Guelph, Ontario Koppers International Canada $55,631.00 Cambridge, Ontario Clemmer Industries $64,893.00 Waterloo, Ontario After review and analysis of the tenders by Public Works and Purchasing, staff recommends that Holt Culvert and Metal Products Limited, be awarded the contract to supply and deliver culvert to the Town of Newcastle for 1988. The service and performance of Holt Culvert and Metal Products Limited, has been acceptable to the Town of Newcastle in the past. The required funds will be drawn from the approved 1988 Culvert Maintenance Construction budget, from which there are adequate funds available. The i Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc. should be referred to the Director of Public Works.
