SUBJECT: Request for Municipal Fire Alarm Connection Peterborough-
Victoria-Northumberland and Newcastle Roman Catholic
Separate School Board

RECOMMENDATION: That the request be granted to connect into the Municipal
Fire Alarm Panel in Station 1, Bowmanville and the St. Francis
of Assisi School , Station 2, Newcastle Village.
All material , installation and maintenance costs to be the
responsibility of the School Board.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
The Municipal Fire Alarm Panel was installed in Station 1, Bowmanville in 1972. At
present there are 32 protected properties on the board with our own dispatch and
answering service facilities, to alert and tone dispatch Station 1 personnel .
Station 2, Newcastle, has 5 protected properties and 3 dispatch answering service
facilities connected into the Municipal Panel . Any expense and maintenance of the Panel
in conjunction with the protected properties are the responsibility of the owners.
These supervised properties automatically alert to the Fire Station panels through the
protected property internal fire alarm system, consisting of sprinkler systems, heat
and smoke detector electrical systems which are installed throughout the buildings,
transmitting an alarm within 2 to 4 minutes to the central panel and fire station.

RE: FIRE ALARM CONNECTIONS
Dear Sir:
We are requesting permission from the Town of
Newcastle to connect our existing fire alarm
systems at St. Joseph's and St. Stephen's Schools ,
Bowmanville and St. Francis of Assisi School, Newcastle
to the local municipal fire alarm panel.
In discussion with yourself earlier this year
we are aware of the yearly municipal fee which can be
invoiced directly to our Board.
We have quotations from Dyer Millar Bros. Ltd.
who are willing to install the equipment.

and if we may proceed with the installation.
