SUBJECT: Roof Repairs Station #2, Newcastle

RECOMMENDATION: That the invitation quote of $ 4,500.00 from John
Hill Roofing for replacing the asphalt roofing on
the apparatus bay, Station #2, Newcastle, be
accepted.
BACKGROUND & COMMENT:
John Hill Roofing replaced the asphalt apartment roof as well as other
minor repairs. We have found his workmanship satisfactory, with no
problems arising to date. The quote submitted by Hill Roofing is the
lowest quote.
The money is allotted in the 1982 budget under account #7102-0172-00002-7.
The quote is in effect for a 30 day period as of March 17, 1982.

ESTIMATE re: Roof Repairs, Station #2,
Village of Newcastle
Area of roof to be repaired is the upper flat asphalt and gravel roof
located over the garage.
Strip complete roof to the bare boards.
Clean exposed roof lumber decking.
Install 2 ply dry sheet.
Re-roof complete roof with 4 ply asphalt and gravel built up roofing.
Install gravel stop metal flashings, at south end of roof edge.
Remove all debris and leave grounds in clean condition.
ESTIMATED COST:- $x,680.00
EXTRA COSTS: Repairs to lumber roof deck. Prepairing wood
and masonary walls for metal flashings.
Supplying and installing new galvanized /'
